We’re proud to celebrate another homebred winner. Camigol, a Florida-bred bay colt by Neolithic out of Daddy’s Pride (by Scat Daddy), took the $35,000 Starter Optional Claiming at Gulfstream Park on September 4, 2026.
Sent off at 2.30-1 and ridden by Samy Camacho for trainer Antonio Sano and owner Tonch’s Horses LLC, Camigol angled four wide near the quarter marker, took command into the lane, and held off 1.10-1 favorite Justin Smiles by a half length. He covered one mile and seventy yards in 1:41.42 and earned $22,450 of the $38,500 purse.
Camigol was bred by DeLuca and Sons Stables Inc. and foaled in Florida on February 16, 2023. Congratulations to Tonch’s Horses, Antonio Sano, Samy Camacho, and the whole team.
